Dahlas Norene DeLoach , 87, of Pharr, Texas, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, November 20, 2024 in Pharr, TX, after complications resulting from a stroke.

She was born September 24, 1937, in Blackshear, Pierce County. She was the youngest daughter of the late William Evan DeLoach and Mary Annie Roberts DeLoach and the last survivor of a generation of 10 brothers and sisters including Annie Juanita DeLoach Colley, William Teagle (W.T.) DeLoach, Dorris Edward DeLoach Sr., John Burnell DeLoach Sr., Mary Lou DeLoach, Carolyn Elizabeth DeLoach Marx, Raymond Ward DeLoach, Robert Edsel DeLoach Sr., William Jerol DeLoach, and her twin David Nathanial DeLoach who passed away after birth. Her mother, Annie, passed away October 19, 1937 due to complications from childbirth only about three weeks after she gave birth to Dahlas and her twin brother, Nathanial.

Her father, William, also passed away almost a year later on 16 October 1938 from bone cancer leaving several of the younger children without a mother and father. Per her father's will and testament, the younger siblings would be raised by the older brothers and sisters. Therefore, she was raised as a daughter by William’s sister Ida Francis who was married to William Rufus Harrison along with their two sons, James Wesley and Thomas Walstein Harrison. She was united in marriage to Hershel Dale June 20, 1963, in Jacksonville, Florida. He was a son of the late Anslem Michael and Charlotte Harris . She was a 1956 graduate of Andrew Jackson High School in Jacksonville, FL. She was a homemaker for most of her life, a loving mother, and a strong military spouse. As a military family, travel was a luxury that took the family to many states and overseas to experience once in a lifetime places. After Hershel retired from the Air Force and Civil Service, they enjoyed the RV life for many years and eventually they decided to move permanently from Georgia to Texas to be near the kids. She enjoyed music, especially playing the piano. Time after time, her family and friends witnessed her personal faith in God and her, strength, resilience, courage and devotion that was boundless and endless. She always thought of others before herself. More than anything she dearly loved her family, and her beloved furry baby Precious, and spending time with them. Anyone that met her for the first time would find themselves a friend forever. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.
