WAYCROSS — Linda , 78, peacefully passed away Friday, January 3, 2025, at Hospice House Satilla after a short illness.

Born in Waycross to the late E.M. “Bo” Everett and Theo Smith Everett, Mrs. graduated from Waycross High School in 1965, where she excelled as a basketball star.

She worked as a paraprofessional at Crawford Street Elementary School. Following a rewarding 30year career as a department manager at Walmart, she embraced her well-deserved retirement. She cherished moments spent with her beloved daughters and grandchildren and found immense pleasure in visits from her grand fur babies.

Mrs. was a member of Second Baptist Church and had recently attended Youmans Chapel Baptist Church. Her unwaivering faith was a pillar of her life.

She was predeceased by her husband, James Dennis ; two brothers, Eddie Everett, Jr. and Tommy Everett; and two sisters, Virginia Harper and Betty Christmas.

She leaves behind four daughters:,Cindy NeSmith Parham of Kennesaw, Ga., Sandy NeSmith Gispert (Keith) of Atlanta, Gina NeSmith Cole (David) of Twin City, Ga., and Melissa Tanner (Brooks) of Waycross; three cherished grandchildren, Matthew Christian Cox, Evan James Hood and Elliott Clenton Hood; her brother, Teddy Everett (Jeanette) of Blackshear; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and her beloved grand fur babies, Dooley, Piper, Dixie and Scarlett. Mrs. Bennett also leaves behind close friends of more than 40 years who will forever treasure her memory.

A graveside service was held Monday, January 6 at Oakland Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to Hospice House Satilla, 808 Evergreen Way, Waycross, 31501.
