WAYCROSS — Susan Mason “Dana” Beecher, 52, of Waycross, died Monday morning, December 16, 2024, at her residence after a sudden illness.

Mrs. Beecher was born in Homerville to the late Edgar Lamar Mason and Mary Lee Corbitt “Jig” Mason and made South Georgia her home all her life. She worked several years as a detention officer for a private prison and enjoyed painting furniture, shopping and attending church. She was a member of Place of Blessings and recently attended Jordan Church.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Beecher also was preceded in death by her brother, Tommy Mason.

Mrs. Beecher is survived by her son, Joseph Beecher of Waycross; sister, Glenda White (husband, Ed) of Manor; former spouse Shine Beecher of Manor; sister-in-law, Alva Mason of Blackshear; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A funeral service was held Friday, December 20 in the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Camp Branch Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
