Lewis Arnold ‘Slow Poke’ King
Born in Blackshear, January 21, 1947, he lived in Pierce County all his life. He was a truck driver having worked and retired from Trucks, Inc. as well as Dixie Road Builders. He also farmed all his life. He loved being outdoors whether it was fishing, riding his motorcycle,

fixing things or just “tinkering” around.
He was a son of the late Lester Avant and Allie Mae Clark King. He was also preceded in death by his son, Dominic J. King; three sisters, Earnestine Jones, Corrine Groce and Isabelle King; all three of his brothers, Ellis Lester “Buddy” King, Roy King and Anthony “Tony” King; a niece, Joyce Blackshear and a great nephew, Major Blackshear.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Taylor King, Blackshear; two daughters, Natasha King, Blackshear and Alysia King, Lakeland; four sisters, Alice (James) Roberson, Wanda Peacock, Sonya (Dewayne) Tuten and Geraldine Walley, all of Blackshear; three grandchildren, Alyssa (Isaac) Simpson, Whitney King and McKenzie King; a great-grandson, Danny Simpson and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m.-noon Thursday, Dec. 19, at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at noon Thursday, Dec. 19, from the Pearson- Dial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Robbie Gill and Alysia King officiating.
Interment will be in the Enon Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Caleb Brewer, Jasper Stokes, Mike Blackshear, Gary Jones, Jeffrey Walley, Danny Roberson, Charles Aldridge and Harry “Skeeter” Guest.
