Born in Offerman February 5, 1934, she lived in Pierce County most of her life prior to moving to Nashville nine months ago. She was a homemaker and an excellent seamstress. She also enjoyed crocheting and knitting. She had a passion for writing poetry, having compiled them in notebooks to give to her family. One of her poems even hung in an Air Force base hospital. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and dog mom. She att ended New Home Primitive Baptist Church.
She was a daughter of the late Robert Lester and Hester Savilla Chancey Crosby. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Earl Arthur Andersen; both of her daughters, Joan Marie Howard and Donna Kaye Bullard; four of her sisters, Nita Weir, Annette Sikes, Sarah “Lil” Thrift and Carol Payne; and all three of her brothers, Eddie, Joe and Ronnie Crosby.
Survivors include her son, Thomas Miller Jr., Blackshear; her sister and brother-in-law, Savilla “Billie” and Don Cornelius, Nashville; two sisters-in-law, Edna Crosby, Jacksonville, FL and Diana Crosby, Tulsa, OK; a brother-inlaw, Donald Payne, Blackshear; four grandchildren, Chris McAtamney, Donovan McAtamney, Shanna M. Bullard and Thomas J. “T.J.” Miller; three greatgrandchildren, Colby Williams, Chasitey Williams and Thomas J. Miller Jr.; her beloved dog Duke and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. (today) Wednesday, Dec. 11, from the Pearson-Dial Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jerry Chancey officiating.
Interment followed in the New Home Cemetery.
