Phillip Morris Dixon
Born July 6, 1948, in Blackshear, he was a son of the late Alvin Alonzo and Zoie Davis Dixon. He lived all his life in Pierce County and was a 1968 graduate of Blackshear High School. He was a veteran, having served in the United States Navy from 1968-1970 and then worked as a selfemployed contractor with Dixon Construction Company for many years. He then became a carpentry supervisor for Telamon for 12 years.
He was a member of the Pierce County Hunting Club and the American Legion and was of the Primitive Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Youmans; a great-grandson, Britain Alex Taylor; a sister, Dorothy D. Campbell and three brothers, Robert Dixon, Raymond Dixon and Alonzo Dixon.
Survivors include his wife of nearly 51 years, Patricia “Diane” Kicklighter Dixon, Blackshear; three daughters, Dawn Strickland (husband Ronnie), Patterson and Shelia Hewett (husband Jim) and Nickie Stewart (husband Jeffrey), all of Blackshear; six grandchildren, Ashlye Thrift (husband Colby), Patterson, Devin Smith (fiancé Madison), Blackshear, Kandace Bargeron, Brunswick, Kelsy Boles (husband Nate), Trenton, FL; Brittany Youmans, Waycross and Kaley Mercado-Reyes (husband Louis), Waycross; 11 greatgrandchildren; sister, Rosa D. Sale, Jacksonville, FL and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Graveside funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10 from the Enon Cemetery near Blackshear.
