Douglas Joe Goforth
Goforth served as a medic in the United States Army, then Nat ional Guard for more than 20 years. He graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies from Coastal Georgia Community College in Brunswick.
Goforth was employed at Brantley County DFCS as a Social Services Specialist. He enjoyed history, fishing, photography, shooting at the range, online and tabletop gaming, riding his motorcycle, kayaking, spending time with his dogs, Athena and Apollo, and most importantly, spending time with his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Marshall and Judy Goforth; Terry Paulk; and grandson,

Emory.
Goforth is survived by his wife, Judi; children, Michelle (Will), Katie (Corey), Felicia (Wade), and Charles (Jessica); grandsons, Nathan, Vance, Derrick, Marshall and Wesley; father, Russ Lamb; sisters, Shannon Lopez and Crystal Risberg; brothers, Patrick Doyle and Dustin Goforth; and several nieces and nephews.
Honorary pallbearers include Brantley County DFCS, CVMA, 25-7 Bike Club, Josh Thornton, David and Clare Crews, Tom Hibbeler, Mike and Priscilla Hansard, Andrew Altman, L.J. Juarez and Derek Jordan.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to your local animal shelter or charity that supports Veterans.
Visitation will he held Friday, December 13, 2024 at 2 p.m., at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home in Brunswick.
A funeral service will follow at 3 p.m, at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home.
Edo Miller and Sons is in charge of arrangements.
