Day was born in Waycross to the late Billy Jerome Day and Kathryn Dowling Day Floyd. He made Waycross his home for most of his life.

Day served his country faithfully in the United States Army. He became an exceptional chef, most recently working at Pizza Inn. Day worked previously for the City of Waycross in the maintenance department. When he wasn’t working you could find him fishing.

In addition to his father, Day is preceded in death by his faithful dog, Rocky “Boo” and step-father, Harold Floyd.

He is survived by his wife, Tina Day of Waycross; four stepchildren, Dustin Hostutler of Ohio, Brittany Bagley of Ohio, Amber Bagley of Kingsland, and Haley Outen and husband, Daniel, of South Carolina; step-grandchildren; Dylan Pitts, Brayden Gillogly, Cameron Outen, Bentley Outen, Levi Outen and Gunner Outen; his mother, Kathy Floyd of Waycross; a brother, David Day and wife, Debbie, of Hoboken; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 14, 2024 at 2 p.m., in the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends beginning at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
