WAYCROSS — Mr. Brian Steven Smith, 62, passed away Thursday, March 13, 2025, at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross following a short illness.

Smith was born in Florida to the late Carl Lott Smith and Audrey Lee Edwards Smith. He retired as an elect rician from Naval Air Station Cecil Field in Jacksonville, Fla., and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW).

He was also a member of VFW Post 4382 in Waycross. Smith had a passion for riding motorcycles and loved traveling. It was said he was a world traveler.

In addition to his parents, Smith was preceded in death by his brother, Mike Smith.

He is survived by two sisters, Linda White (Kevin) and Debbie Gilley both of Waycross; a brother, Rodney Smith (Sally) of Waycross; several nieces and nephews, Josh Smith, Eric Smith (Elaina), Michael Smith (Kelly), Serenity Carter (Roman), David White (Lori), Alex White, Kade White, Stephanie Dean, David Gilley and Caleb Smith; two great nephews, Bruce Harn and Connor Sapp; and numerous others.

A funeral service was held Monday, March 17 at Waycross First Assembly. Burial followed in Oakland Cemetery.

Smith’s friends from the VFW Post 4382 in Waycross served as honorary pallbearers.
