JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Kevin Mark Crews, Sr., 67, of Jacksonville, passed away March 10, 2025, surrounded by his family and friends.

Crews was born February 10, 1958, in Jacksonville, and was adopted at birth by Robert Hugh Crews and Caro lynn Addingt o n Crews, who cherished him beyond measure and provided him with a warm, loving home.

Crews spent his childhood in Spokane, Wash., before traveling to Waycross as a teenager to learn carpentry — a craft that became both his passion and his profession. It was in Waycross he first laid eyes on the love of his life, Melanie Minix. With unwavering determination, he declared to his friends that she would one day be his wife, and true to his word, he married her. Their love is deep and unshakable, standing as a testament to lifelong devotion.

A master carpenter, Crews could build anything, with incredible skill and an unwavering work ethic. He worked tirelessly from sunrise to sunset to provide for his beloved wife and three sons. He was a man of fairness, kindness, and generosity.

Above all, he was a devoted husband, father, and friend.

Crews was preceded in death by his loving parents, Robert and Carolynn Crews.

He is survived by his wife, Melanie Crews; his three sons, Mark (born 1980), Bobby (born 1984) and Terry (born 1990); eight grandchildren, Kaelyn Crews, Luna Crews, Cosmo Crews, Bella Crews, Iyla Crews, Lina Crews, Emma Crews, Dennis Crews, Jr., and one on the way; along with a host of extended family and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

A service to celebrate his life will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 22 at Music Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.

His legacy of love, hard work, and unwavering dedication to family will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
