Annie Ilona ‘Lona’ Cribbs Goss

UNDATED — Annie Ilona “Lona” Cribbs Goss, 84 of Brantley County, died Thursday, March 6, 2025.

The Wayne County native was a member of Raybon Advent Christian Church and was a homemaker. She enjoyed all of her best qualities which inc lude sewing, cooking and caring for her large family.

Mrs. Goss was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, L.A. Goss; sons, Gary Allen Goss and James “Jimmy” Goss; a daughter, Judy Sheffield; and a sister, Glenna Cribbs.

Survivors are daughters, Jeannie (Mark) Dougherty of Georgetown, Ind., Julie (David) Hobbs of McMinnville, Tenn., Debra Walker of Brunswick, Peggy Watson of Waycross and Diane Goss of Brunswick; sons, Johnny (Kat) Goss of Delray Beach, Fla., Jackie (Christi) Goss of Jesup, Jerry Goss of Delray Beach, Fla., and Larry (Carol) Goss of Brunswick; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a great-great grandchild.

A funeral service was held March 10, 2025 at Rinehart and Sons Chapel with Rev. David Herrin and Rev. Hilton Morgan officiating.

Interment followed in Flint Branch Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Logan Dougherty, Jonathon Nichols, Carlos Gonzales, Michael Sumner, Lamar Gordon and Rowdy Eunice.

Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home of Jesup was in charge of arrangements.
