THOMASVILLE, Ga. — Beatrice Lynn Dixon, 92 died January 18, 2025, in the Southern Pines Assisted Living for Seniors Assisted Living of Thomasville following an extended illness.
She was a former resident of Brantley County and had lived most of her life in Ware County. Mrs. Dixon was the daughter of the late Charlie Lynn and Ethel Lane Lynn. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward C. Dixon, and three brothers, Cecil Lynn, Edward Lynn, and Gene Lynn.
Mrs. Dixon was affectionately known as “Bea.” She was a devout Christian and a long-time member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, a member of the Adult Ladies Sunday School Class, and had served many years on the kitchen committee. She had retired from Reuben Brothers Footwear after many years of service.
Survivors include her daughter, Menza Dixon Krause (husband John) of Tallahassee, Fla.; two grandsons, Maxwell Gordon Mitchell (wife Sara) and Mason Edward Mitchell (wife Megan) both of Thomasville; great grandchildren, Odin Alexander Mitchell, Ivan Edward Mitchell, and Cade Maxwell Mitchell; a brother, Lamar Lynn (wife Jackie) of Braselton, Ga.; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, March 9 at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, 7136 Central Avenue, Waycross. The family will receive friends beginning at 2:30 p.m. at the church.
