Bertha Parker Svendsen
Born February 2, 1930 in Camden County, to the late Lester Ernest and Verdie B. Parker, she was a retried cook. Mrs. Svendsen enjoyed cooking and baking and was a member of Waynesville Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Svendsen; two sons, Owen Barnes and Harvey Barnes; and two sisters, Marion Alleene Kaniok and Lucille Chancey.
Survivors include three sons, Mike F. Barnes and wife, Connie, of Aurora, Mo., Hervey Barens and wife, Anne, of Keystone Heights, Fla., and Walter Barnes and wife, Jan, of Kingsland; a daughter, Darrah B Young and husband, Tommy, of Jacksonville, Fla.; a sister, Thelma Knox; 12 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
A graveside service was held Saturday, March 1, 2025 at Phoebe Cemetery in Folkston with Rev. Randy Wainwright and Tommy Young officiating.
Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home of Brunswick was in charge of arrangements.
