WAYCROSS — Mr. Roger Edward “Teeta” Rowell, Sr., 79, died Saturday morning, February 22, 2025, at Hospice House Satilla after an extended illness.

Rowell was born November 17, 1945 in Ware County to the late Howard Arley Rowell and Sarah Elizabeth Corbitt Rowell. He graduated from Manor High School in 1963, and he was formerly employed by Borden Milk and retired from GATX.

Affectionately known as “Teeta,” he enjoyed drag racing, watching westerns, and spending time with his family and grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Rowell was also preceded in death by his sister, Martha Jane Lee.

Survivors include his son, Roger “Robbie” E. Rowell, Jr. (Kathy) of Manor; grandchildren, Ansley Rowell Delk (Austin) and Austin Rowell (Blakeney); great grandchildren, Tate Delk, Blythe and Bexley Rowell; two brothers, William H. “Billy” Rowell (Marie) and John W. Rowell (Vickie), both of Manor; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A funeral service was held Tuesday, February 25 at the Music Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Camp Branch Providence Cemetery in Manor.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Satilla Hospice House, 808 Evergreen Way, Waycross, 31501.
