JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Mr. William Dalton , age 28, passed away on Friday, November 22, 2024, at HCA Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, Fla.
was born on January 18, 1996, in Brunswick, Ga. He was raised in Screven and att ended schools in Wayne and Pierce counties. From a young age, ’s passion for life was evident, as he excelled both academically and athletically.
He was an all-star in multiple sports, including baseball and football, his competitive spirit led him to push boundaries in whatever he pursued. Whether it was drag racing, golfing, fishing or riding motorcycles, always was determined to see just how far he could go and how fast he could push the limits.
His love for adventure was matched by his unwavering dedication to his work, striking a perfect balance between his thrillseeking spirit and his professional commitments. He was employed by GS Construction in Norcross, Ga., where he operated heavy equipment and worked as a diesel mechanic.
Above all, was known for his vibrant personality, infectious energy, and ability to make friends with everyone he met. He had a heart of gold, always eager to lend a hand, share a laugh, and be there for those who needed him. His generous spirit was exemplified through his afterlife contribution which saved four lives.
’s legacy will live on in the memories of all who knew him, as well as in the lives he touched. He is survived by his family, friends, and colleagues, who will remember him for his larger-than-life personality, his competitive edge, and the love he brought to every moment.
was preceded in death by his great grandmother, Lala Edenfield; maternal grandfather, Jon Derby Apler; paternal grandparents, Emory and Rosedale ; and cousins, Bree Apler and Kaden Cox.
was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend. He is survived by his wife, Heather Dowling ; children, Dawson and Jon Myles ; stepchildren, Brenton Rawlins, Harrison Daniels, and Remington “Remi” Dowling; his mother, Michelle Apler Mixon (Denny); his father, Bill (Samantha); brother, Jon Hagen (Payton); sister, Marlee Mixon; and his grandparents, Brenda Hartley (Robert) and Diane Harden (Dennie Joe); aunts and uncles, Mandy and Preston Cox, Jon David Apler, and Josh ; cousins, Alyssa Boatright (KP), Kali Apler, and Aden Apler; as well as numerous other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday, November 27) at the Music Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Swamp Road Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 1 p.m. today at the funeral home.
