WAYCROSS — Mr. Bobby Gay Lloyd, 84, passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at his residence in Waycross following an extended illness.
He was born in Ware County to the late Andrew Clayton Lloyd and Winnie Branch Lloyd. He was the owner and operator of Lloyd’s Auto in Waycross. He taught at Ware Technical College for a number of years and also served in the United States Army. Later in life he had a passion for restoring antique cars and traveling to car shows with his wife.
In addition to his parents, Lloyd also was preceded in death by his wife, Rosa Lee “Rosie” Waldron Lloyd; and four siblings, Talmadge Lloyd, Andrew Lloyd, Martha Chauncey, and Vivian Freeman.
He is survived by his two daughters, Lorie Ann Lloyd Williams (L.C.) of Waycross and Nina Lloyd Sandusky of Atlanta; six grandchildren, Lauryn Williams King (Evan), Patrick Wade Williams, Sierra Sandusky Saye (Nick), Summer Sandusky, Brandon Hunter Williams, and Skyler Sandusky; four great grandchildren, Bryson King, Nicholas Saye, Audyn King, and Ashton Saye; three siblings, Harold Wayne Lloyd (Terri) of Homerville, Betty Jean Morrison (Mac) of Waycross, and Linda Smith (Arnold) of Manor; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held Saturday, February 15 at Victory Methodist Church in Manor. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
