WAYCROSS — Mr. Alvin W. Bell, 75, died Monday night, February 10, 2025, at Hospice House Satilla after an extended illness.
He was born January 5, 1950 in Fitzgerald, Ga., to the late Alonzo Bell and Daisy Davis Bell. Bell served in the United States Air Force as a jet engine and train mechanic, retired from CSX Transportation as a machinist after 40 years of service, and he was a member of Eagles Flight Ministries. He deeply loved his family and grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he also was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald and Raymond Bell; and a sister, Violet Bass.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Janice Minix Bell of Waycross; two children, Shaun Bell (Jill) of Spotsylvania, Va., and Ellen Dowd (Philip) of Waycross; 11 grandchildren; one great grandchild; brother, Kelly Bell (Carol) of Brunswick; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held Thursday, February 13 at the Music Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Greenlawn Mausoleum.
