WAYCROSS — Levinnie Margaret Tatum Blalock, 92, of Waycross, died Saturday morning, February 15, 2025, at Baptist Village Nursing Home after an extended illness.

Mrs. Blalock was born in Appling County on August 7, 1932 to the late Clarence Tatum and Bessie Denison Tatum, and made Waycross her home for most of her life. She was the definition of a true southern lady and homemaker, from her cooking skills to raising and maintaining an active house, she was exceptional.

Mrs. Blalock never met a stranger, could craft just about anything and enjoyed traveling. She also was an active and faithful member of Central Baptist Church since 1955 where she worked in the nursery for more than 25 years. She also was the children’s Sunday School and Training Union teacher, worked with G.A.’s as a teacher, W.M.U. circle leader, kitchen helper for Family Night suppers, a member of the Merrymakers group, group leader, vice president and co-chairman as president.

In addition to her parents, she also was preceded in death by her loving husband of 70 years, Royce F. Blalock; an infant son; an infant great grandson, Paxton Barrs; and three siblings, Curtis Tatum, Mary Pierce and Aldine Crews.

Mrs. Blalock is survived by four daughters, Terrolyn Harrison (husband Chris) of Interlachen, Fla., Nina Crosby (husband Randy) of Blackshear, Kathy Robinson (husband Wes) of Cochran, Ga., and Ronda Osburn (husband Tim) of Waycross; nine grandchildren, Will Altman, Amy Humbers (Alan), Ashley Altman (Cora Morgan), Brandi Montaigne (Jeff), Tatum Gill (Bryan), Carmen Barrs (Andy), Curtis Hobbs (Bailee), Heather Strickland (Jake), Wayne Osburn; 19 great grandchildren; one great- great grandchild; a sister, Alva Barrow (husband Tommy) of Newborn, N.C.; a special caregiver, Tammy Benchoff (husband Robert); and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A funeral service was held February 17 at Central Baptist Church. Burial followed in Greenlawn Cemetery.

The family would like to thank Baptist Village and Hospice Satilla for all the care and kindness the staff provided Mrs. Blalock.
