BLACKSHEAR — Mrs. Wanda Gail Walker Minchew, 65, of Blackshear, died Tuesday morning, February 4, 2025, at her residence after an extended illness.

She was born in Jacksonville, Fla., to the late Curtis Walker and Willie Mae Walker. Mrs. Minchew had made Waycross and Blackshear her home for most of her life. She worked for Memorial Satilla Health and was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Mrs. Minchew was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry Minchew of Blacksh ear; three children, And rew Scurry, Angela Scurry and Jerry Wayne Minchew, Jr.; one brother, James Walker of Jacksonville; one sister, Bonnie Walker of Jacksonville; and numerous other relatives.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 22 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
