Waycross Internal Medicine nurse practitioner Andrea DeLoach has a fun way of raising money for women of addiction! She is sponsoring a Kids’ Dog Show Saturday, Feb. 11, at Okefenokee Heritage Center.
“This will be an exciting, fun time and we welcome all children ages 5 to 15,’’ says Heritage Center executive director Carla C. Eddings. “I appreciate Andrea sponsoring this competition and welcome the children to enter their pets. There will be five divisions, to be announced, and prizes will be awarded.’’
According to Ms. DeLoach, “Some years ago, volunteers in Okefenokee Alliance for Kids, the child abuse prevention chapter in Ware and Pierce Counties, sponsored a Nick’s Pet Show and this drew a lot of fun and attention for children with their dogs. There will be entry fees and a lot of prizes given Feb. 11.
We are happy to sponsor an occasion recognizing the importance of Bethesda Recovery. And, the Mom Prom queen will be crowned March 4 at the gala. The candidate raising the most money will be crowned queen. Mom Prom March 4 is a time of fellowship, food, dance and fun.’’
Included in prizes will be two bicycles awarded for Best of Show Pet for boy and Best of Show Pet for girl. The show will be held at 10 which will follow all dogs’ registration at 9 a.m. According to sponsors, a lot of planning is still in its staging.
