MLK Jr. Parade held in Blackshear

A cool morning filled with bright sunshine greeted participants and onlookers for this year’s Martin Luther King Jr. Day parade through Blackshear. The parade began at the Board of Education office and traveled down Main Street, turning left onto U.S. Highway 84. The parade route ended at the Lee Street Resource Center on Ware Street. -Photos by Jason Deal and Adam Hart

Evergreen Church in Bristol presented a float with singing marchers. The float, “Together We Can Be The Dream” highlighted the contributions of Dr. King and other prominent African Americans.
