Hooves to Freedom 8K trail race to be held Saturday, January 21

The 10th Annual Hooves to Freedom 8K trail race will be held Saturday, January 21.

The event will begin at 10 a.m. at the Moccasin Creek Off Road Park near Blackshear.

Organizers say the off road park will be a fun, but challenging all dirt trail course.

All runners will enjoy a locally produced Lee & Davis Country Meats sausage dog lunch.

Runners will also receive a stylish high-performance long sleeve shirt and a 10th anniversary gift for all participants.

Proceeds will benefit Hooves To Freedom, a local non-profit charity based in Blackshear that supports the surrounding counties and offers equine and animal assisted activities for individuals ages 8-108.

Hooves to Freedom also has specific activities for at risk youth, victims of trauma, abuse and grief.

The race is also held in memory of our Superman, Brandon Davis.

For information, to sponsor or to sign up, please go to www.hoovestofreedom.com. Race Director is Orrie McCrea and he can be contacted by phone at 912-332-0837 or by e-mail at [email protected].

Hooves to Freedom also has specific activities for at risk youth, victims of trauma, abuse and grief. Student rider Lexlie Boardes participates in equine therapy with the horse led by Lili Boardes.
