Mary Louise Hardy, 82, of Offerman, departed this life Sunday, November 19, 2023, at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross.
Louise, as she was affectionally known, was born June 15, 1941. She was a loving devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She would give to anyone who was in need. Her laugh would light up the room. She was a homemaker as well as a talented seamstress. She loved shopping, watching television and spending time with her family. She was a lifelong member of Union Chapel in Mershon. She served in other capacities but most recently as church mother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Prince and Rosetta Graham; her husband, Cleo Hardy; her granddaughter, Brandi C. Merday and five siblings, Princess Mae Hamilton, Johnnie Lee Fuller, Lois Graham, Wilbert Graham and Lonnie Graham.
She leaves to cherish her memories her loving and devoted children, Bobby L. Hardy, Offerman, John E. Hardy (Tommie Onita), Colorado Springs, CO; Rosemary (William) Fullwood, Waycross; nine grandchildren, Bobby Lester, Zina Mitchell, Ashka Hardy, Brittany L. Hardy, John E. Hardy III, Jimmy Troy Watson-Woods (Maria), Contance (Joe) Drew, Roderick L. Merday Jr. and Jordan A. Merday; 14 great-grandchildren, Jaquan James, Leonta (Apearl) Williams, Canaiya Mitchell, Makale Mitchell, Makiha Mitchell, Kevin R. Bailey Jr., Mia Watson-Woods, Ahmad Merday, Zoe Merday, Ashton Merday, Tristan Merday, Keston Merday, Caren Drew and Joe Drew Jr.; four great-great-grandchildren, Ivey Rose Merday, Kali Rose James, Legend Aaron and Shelton Kyaire Clark; three sisters, Gladys Graham of California, Helen Geddis of New Jersey and Claudia Davis of Florida; special nieces, Evon Fuller and Gwen McKinney; special nephews, Jerry (Billie) Fuller and Claude (Hattie) Fuller; four god-children, Veronica Moore, Stephanie Truitt, Jackie Williams and Shonterricia Atkins and a host of nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 1, from the Evergreen Baptist Church, 3590 Georgia Highway 32, Bristol. The Rev. Nathaniel Anderson is the host pastor and the Rev. Wade NeSmith of Union Chapel will deliver the eulogy.
Interment will follow in the Union Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery in Mershon.
