Jackie Alan Dixon

Jackie Alan Dixon, 75, passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at his residence in Blackshear, following a short illness.

He was born in Waycross to the late Stanton Winfred Dixon and Reba Jean Christmas Dixon. He was an auto body and paint instructor for 26 years at Okefenokee Technical College in Waycross and a member of Transformation Church. In his spare time, he was an avid NASCAR fan and collector. He also enjoyed fishing and traveling to Savannah to watch the large ships come in and out of the port. But most of all he was a dedicated family man who loved spending time with them.

Survivors include his wife, Janice McCall Dixon, Blackshear; three children, Alan Dixon (Kari), St. Augustine, FL, Shelly Erdmier (Kevin),  Blackshear and Amber Walker (Derik), Blackshear; seven grandchildren, Madison Artz (Evan), Holly Dixon, Dillon Dixon, Ashleigh Fleming (Shannon), Ryan Erdmier, Reese Walker and Lily Kate Walker; three great-grandchildren, Jack Fleming, McKenzie Fleming and Leila Dixon and a brother, Gary Dixon, Waycross.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, from the social hall of the First Baptist Church of Blackshear.

Memorialization will be by cremation.
