Carol Gene Peacock

Carol Gene Peacock, 85, of Alma, passed away Monday morning, November 20, 2023, at Twin Oaks Convalescent Center in Alma.

Born in the Rockingham Community May 8, 1938, he had lived in Bacon and Pierce Counties all his life. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He farmed for 17 years prior to working for True Value Hardware Store in Blackshear as well as working as a stocker for Wall’s IGA for many years. He enjoyed fishing when he could and was a member and former deacon and Sunday school teacher at First Baptist Church in Blackshear.

He was a son of the late Otis Carroll and Jennie Marie Camp Peacock. He was also preceded in death by a sister-in-law and two brothers-in-law, Marian and Elfred James and William Wall Sr.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara “Bobbi” Colley Peacock, Alma; a daughter and son-in-law, Pamela D. and Roger McFarlin, Statesboro; a son and daughter-in-law, Carroll Gene “Chuck” Jr. and Alissa Peacock, Alma; his brother and three sisters-in-law, Bobbie Rae and Cathy Peacock, Cartersville and Ann Wall and Sue Shoemaker, both of Blackshear; four grandchildren, Arlynn D. Briscoe, Ethan (Samantha) Parker, Gramm Peacock and Rebekah (Corey) Hatten; seven great-grandchildren, Ace Wade, Jaxon Briscoe, Henlei Briscoe, Axle Parker, Navie Parker, Abram Hatten and Asher Hatten and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, from the Pearson-Dial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Justin Gambrell officiating.

The family will have a private graveside service at the Blackshear Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Chuck Peacock, Roger McFarlin, Ethan Parker, Corey Hatten, Gramm Peacock and Gary Simmons.
