Jessie Pearl Kirkland Williams, 91, of Gainesville, formerly of Blackshear, passed away Friday morning, November 17, 2023, at Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.
Born in Manor, November 19, 1931, she lived in Pierce County before moving to Gainesville in mid-2000. She worked for Southern Bell as a telephone operator before marrying and becoming a full-time homemaker and mother. She was an avid gardener and kept her yards beautiful with flowers, both at her residence and her summer home at Lake Burton in the North Georgia Mountains. She was a member of Blackshear Presbyterian Church and will be remembered as a loving and faithful wife, mother and grandmother.
She was a daughter of the late William Walker “Ted” and Alma Elizabeth Corbitt Kirkland. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Frances Guy.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Nash Williams Jr.; three daughters, Pam Robinson, Dawsonville, Paula Jones, Clayton and Patty (Mark) Blair, Cumming; a son, Ed (Lynn) Williams, Covington; seven grandchildren, Matt (Ola) Robinson, Alex Robinson, Will Robinson, Dylan (Hannah) Jones, Warren Jones, Tatyana Blair and Luke Blair; one great-grandchild, Gaia Robinson and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, November 21, from the Pearson-Dial Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment will be in the Shiloh Cemetery.
