Mary Ellen Kerby Rozier

Mary Ellen Kerby Rozier, 74, of Blackshear, died Sunday, November 12, 2023, at Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, FL, after an extended illness.  

She was born in Waycross to the late Cecil Hyman Kerby and Billie Elga Cauley Kerby.  She graduated from the University of Georgia in 1973. She was a retired school teacher with the Ware County School System.  She loved teaching and every child she taught was special to her. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and “Mimi”.  She loved jewelry, shopping and spending time at Dover’s Bluff.  More than anything, she loved her family and any time she was able to spend with them, especially her grandchildren. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Frank Rozier, Blackshear; her daughter, Kelley Wright and her husband Kevin, Blackshear; two grandchildren, Meagan Shultz and her husband Tanner and Colton Wright, all of Blackshear; one great-grandson, Alder Tanner Shultz; her favorite dog “Olive” and numerous other relatives.

Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 16, from the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel.  

Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
