Mickey Alvis Dixon, 66, of Blackshear, passed away Sunday morning, November 26, 2023, at his residence following an extended illness.
Born November 18, 1957, in Waycross, he was a son of the late Alvis Cleon Dixon and Winnie Evelyn Thornton Dixon Guy. He grew up in Waycross and was a 1976 graduate of Waycross High School. He moved to Utah in 1982 before returning to Pierce County in 1996. He was a retired truck driver for Robert Bearden Inc. (RBI) and was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Blackshear.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Ryan Mitchell Dixon; step-father, Roy Edward Guy, Sr.; his in-laws, Wade H. and Audrey Gardner Hooper; niece, Ansley Day and nephew Kenneth Collins.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Kelly Ann Dixon, Blackshear; three children, David Dixon (wife Angel), Blackshear, Kellie Haire, Waycross and Jordan Dixon (wife Samantha), Blackshear; six grandchildren, Dylan Dixon (Aliah Galvan), Kendra Dixon, Gage Merryman, Colton Merryman, Brooklin Haire and Aeryn Haire; a great-grandson, Holland Dixon; three sisters, Charlotte Davis (husband Billy) and Mary Morgan (husband Robert), both of Blackshear and Ann Marie Parfenchuck (husband Thomas), Martinez; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Pat and Michelle Collins, Santa Maria, CA, Walter and Linda Roach, Blackshear and James Hooper, Waycross and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 30, at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 30 fromĀ the chapel of Hart Funeral Home.
Interment will follow in the Blackshear City Cemetery.
