Jerry Foster Kimbrell, 63, of Patterson, passed away Thursday morning, May 4, 2023, at the Hospice Satilla Hospice House in Waycross.
Born in Atlanta, July 8, 1959, he lived in Summerfield, FL prior to moving back to Pierce County in 2001. He was a 1977 graduate of Patterson High School and a 1996 graduate of Florida Baptist Theological College. Over the years he served at several churches in Alabama, Tennessee and Florida. He also served as a minister of music, associate pastor, youth pastor and church administrator. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Blackshear. He enjoyed gardening, especially growing roses; crocheting, listening to audio books, baking cakes and being with his grandchildren.
He was the son of the late Foster William and Joann Thrift Kimbrell. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Anna Watson and his sister, Pam Howard.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Margie Deal Kimbrell, Patterson; his son and daughter-in-law, Matthew and Miranda Kimbrell, Colorado Springs, CO; six sisters, Glenda (Paul) Freeman, Milledgeville, Lisa (Gregory) Whitley, Norfolk, VA, Penny Soady, Virginia Beach, VA, Debbie Moore, Blanche Moore, Columbus and Cherry Stewart, Milledgeville; two brothers, Ricky Moore of California and Jamie Stewart, Milledgeville; sister-in-law, Carolyn (Bill) Ford, Winter Park, FL; seven grandchildren, Skylar Ray (Blake Hamilton), Hunter Watson, Trent Markwith, Jett Markwith, Foster Kimbrell, Madilyn Joann Kimbrell and Nolan Kimbrell; a great-grandchild, Jude Hamilton and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be from 2-3 p.m. Wednesday, May 10, at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 10, from the Pearson-Dial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ken Trapnell and Elder Jason Deal officiating.
Interment will be in the Laura Chapel Cemetery.
The family kindly requests employees of Hospice Satilla serve as honorary pallbearers. They are asked to please meet at the chapel by 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.
