Jackie Godwin, 67, gained his wings Tuesday, May 2, 2023 in Waycross.
He was born September 2, 1955, in Jasper, FL, to the late William Franklin Sr. and Christine Jones Godwin.
He attended Pierce County schools located in Blackshear. He was an employee with the Pierce County Road Department for many years. Throughout his life, he loved to work with his hands. His hobbies included yardwork and farming.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Mary Louis and Verdell Fuller; three brothers, Rufus Louis, James Cledis and Bobby Lee Godwin, Sr. and four nephews, Patrick, Dentric, B.J. and Jaylyn.
He leaves to cherish his memories his children, Jacqueline James, Tabarr Godwin, Todrick Godwin and Xavier Godwin; three sisters, Billy Frances Batten (Franklin), Lavern Wright (Robert) and Gwendolyn Williams (Robert); five brothers, William Godwin, Jr. (Mary), Jovon Godwin, Leon Godwin, Kenneth Godwin and Michael Godwin (Keith); 12 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a host of loving family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, May 12, at the funeral home, 985 Ossie Davis Parkway, Waycross.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 13, from the Word of Faith Worship Center, 204 Crawford Street, Waycross.
Services of care and comfort are entrusted to Fluker Funeral Home of Waycross.
