Faye Jacobs, co-owner and operator of Jacobs Funeral Home of Blackshear, passed away Tuesday, May 16, at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross. She was 75.
Jacobs and her husband, William, opened their funeral home on U.S. Highway 84 in 1994 and served numerous families throughout the area over the last 26 years. Jacobs went back to school at age 54 and became an embalmer and funeral director in 2002. She served in that role until 2020.
Jacobs became a nurse in 1983 and became a registered nurse in 1990.
She and her husband had many business interests in the area including The Village Nook Clothing Store in Waycross, Chris’ Monuments, Jacobs Vault Company, Jacobs Funeral Home and Jacobs Properties (Rentals). She worked full time until her 70th birthday.
No public services for Mrs. Jacobs are scheduled. Her ashes were buried beside her husband in the private family cemetery on her estate.
