A major drug bust last week resulted in two arrests and the seizure of about $10,000 worth of fentanyl and methamphetamine, firearms and over $25,000 in cash.
According to Sheriff Ramsey Bennett, John David Horton and Kennedy Brooke Peeples were arrested in connection with the case.
The arrest occurred April 25 when Pierce County Sheriff’s Aggressive Crime Enforcement (ACE) Unit Sergeant Jacob Winters, Investigator Greg Nettles, Investigator Wayne Mercer, Sergeant Donald Shuman, Deputy Jacob Carter and Deputy Marc Horne executed search warrants at a residence.
Horton is charged with trafficking in cocaine, illegal drugs, marijuana, or methamphetamine; trafficking in cocaine, illegal drugs, marijuana, or methamphetamine (fentanyl); possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute; theft by receiving stolen property and receipt, possession, or transport of firearm by convicted felon or felony first offender.
Peeples was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distributee; theft by receiving stolen property; probation violation and receipt, possession, or transport of firearm by convicted felon or felony first offender.
In addition to the drugs, firearms and cash, the seizure also included several pills, packaging materials and digital scales.
