Caroline Hill Conner Jones, 88, of Blackshear, died Friday evening, September 15, 2023, at her residence, after a short illness.
She was born in Folkston to the late Joseph Troy and Alma McNeil Conner. She attended Young Harris College and was a homemaker. She always enjoyed gardening, sewing and cooking. She was the matriarch of the Jones family, loved to travel and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great -grandchildren. She was of the Methodist faith.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Carl Jones Jr. and one brother, John Stewart Conner.
Survivors include three sons, Jimmy Jones and his wife Laurie, Waycross, Patrick Jones and his wife Kara, Blackshear, Roger Jones, Statesboro; seven grandchildren, Mindy Lee, Brandon Jones and his wife Audrey, Jade Clark and her husband Carson, Jenna Jones, Ashley Crews and her husband Eric, Amber Jones and Ansley Jones; 13 great-grandchildren, Llewyn Jones, Violet Jones, Ryker Lee, Slade Lee, Logan Milner, Chloe Crews, Isabella Crews, Liam Crews, John Wyatt Crews, Cole Roppe, Caroline Sims, Grey Webb and Alexander Dewitt; two sisters, Kay Barber and her husband Larry, Manor and Sherri Moore, Atlanta; two brothers, Joe Conner and his wife Bonnie, Crescent Beach, FL and Preston Conner and his wife Joy, Sardis and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m.-noon Tuesday, Sept. 19, at First Baptist Church in Blackshear.
A private interment will be held at Oakland Cemetery in Waycross.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Satilla, 808 Evergreen Way, Waycross, GA 31501.
