Joyce Lenette Anderson Winn, 85, of Blackshear, passed away Saturday morning, September 9, 2023, at her home, surrounded by her family.
Born in Blackshear September 12, 1937, she had lived in Pierce County all of her life. A 1956 graduate of Blackshear High School, she was a familiar face at Belk’s department store, from which she retired after 14 years. She loved sitting on her front porch in her rocking chair, enjoying the fresh air. She enjoyed spending time with her family, but especially loved being with her great-granddaughters. She was a member of Bristol Baptist Church but had recently been attending First Baptist Church.
She was a daughter of the late Cleo Winston and Vesta Iona Combs Anderson. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, Victor Vernon Winn Sr. and a son, Victor Vernon “Vic” Winn Jr.
Survivors include her daughters, Cathy Winn and Casey Winn, both of Blackshear; her grandson and his wife, Jarvis and Crystal Winn, Blackshear; two great-granddaughters, Brooklynn and Elise; a special daughter, Karen Herndon, Blackshear and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 10, at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 11, from First Baptist Church in Blackshear.
Interment will be in the Bristol Cemetery.
