Bonnie L. Boatright Bryant Gordon Ham, 91, of North Myrtle Beach, SC, passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at the Legacy of North Myrtle Beach Nursing Home in North Myrtle Beach, SC.
Born in Alma May 20, 1932, she had lived in Screven for many years prior to moving to North Myrtle Beach to be near her son. She attended Patterson High School. She taught preschool at Bayvale Baptist Church in Augusta prior to working for the Wayne County Board of Education as a paraprofessional. Her later years were spent as a homemaker. A true southern bell, she always kept an immaculate home and yard which she took great pride in. She had enjoyed traveling and loved being a grandmama to all of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. While living in Screven, she had been a member of the Screven Baptist Church where she was in the Senior Ladies Sunday school class. The last several years she had been a member of First Baptist Church of North Myrtle Beach.
She was a daughter of the late Earl and Lula Mae Davis Boatright. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Marvin Bryant; her second husband, Curtis Gordon, her third husband, Joe Ham; a son, Marvin “Butch” Gordon; six of her brothers, Robert, Joe, Runt, Sam, Earl Jr. “Baby” and Bobby Boatright and two sisters-in-law, Juanita Boatright and Delores Boatright.
Survivors include two sons, Artemus “Arte” Gordon, North Myrtle Beach and Donald (Kay) Ham, Covington; a daughter, Melissa Ham, Screven; a daughter-in-law, Alice Gordon, Charleston, SC; four sisters, Wannie Mae (Talmadge) Metts, Bristol, Sheila (Cebbie) Smith, Mershon, Judy (Leon) Allen, Alma and Paula (Norman) McMinns, Lake Placid, FL; a brother, Mack (Debbie) Boatright, Blackshear; two sisters-in-law, Sandra (Cleve) Henderson, Blackshear and Janet Boatright, Murrells Inlet, SC; six grandchildren, Christopher Gordon (Tess Martin), Brittany (Bruce) Murray, Reese (Colleen) Gordon, Scott Stanfield, Patrick Ham and Lydia (Matt) Allen; eight great-grandchildren, Cooper, Margo, Kamryn, Cade, Claire, Ethan Hank and Evy; two great-great grandchildren, Ash and Hudson and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 17, at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 18, from the Pearson-Dial Chapel with Bro. Durwood Miller officiating.
Interment will be in the Pinecrest Memorial Cemetery in Jesup.
