Rudolph Melton, 77, passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at his residence in Waycross.
He was born June 29, 1946 to the late Albert Mitchell Melton and Martha Elizabeth Groover Melton in Blackshear. He was a self-employed tree surgeon. He was a hard worker who loved telling people about the Lord.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, James Albert Melton, Charlton Melton and Robert Melton; a granddaughter, Amber Nicole Melton and a grandson, Jacob Daniel Bennett.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Melton, Waycross; four children, Melissa Melton Jones (Albert), Waresboro, Lora Taylor, Joseph Rudolph Melton and Christopher Melton, all of Waycross; five sisters, Marlene Sullivan and Mildred Moore, both of Blackshear, Linda Sue Spradley, Patterson, Annette Walker, Offerman and Debra Lee, Blackshear; a brother, Stevie Melton, Blackshear; 10 grandchildren, John Bennett, Will Bennett, Garret Taylor, Sarah Taylor, Johanna Bratcher, Brandon Melton, Kyle Melton, Gracie Melton, Corey Melton and Cassidy Melton; 14 great -grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will hold a memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, from the Waresboro Church of God.
The family will be having food at the church after the service.
