Vickie Eleanor Sweat, 68, of Blackshear, passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2023.
She was born June 19, 1955, in Lantana, FL, to Sarah Frances Varnadore Blanchette and the late Jay Grady Blanchette.
She was a loving mother, survived by her daughter, Kimberly (Michael) Wills, Crawfordville, FL, and her sons, Keith (Kris) Harris, Macon and Levi Cox, Blackshear. She was also a cherished sister to Collette (Jay) Griffin, Blackshear. She adored her grandchildren, Caitlyn Harris, Avery Wills, Allison Wills, Cody Hale, Gavin Wills, Brooke Harris and Zoe Harris; great-grandchildren, Nixon, Jillian (who was born today, October 3) and Ada (due in December). She is also survived by several nieces and other relatives.
She worked as a CNA with Altamaha Health Care before her health issues. She was dedicated to her career and made a difference in the lives of those she cared for.
Outside of work, she had a passion for gardening. She found joy in tending to her plants and watching them flourish. She also had a creative side and enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing and to color in coloring books.
She was a member of Living River Church of God.
The family will hold a memorial service at a later date to celebrate Vickie’s life.
