Alvin Clark Hughes, 70, passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2023.
He was a native of Appling County, living 19 years in Tifton before returning to Appling County. He was a former equipment operator with the state highway department.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond M. and Nora Clark Hughes; and five siblings, Linda Gail Hughes, Sarah Hughes, Tammy Jo Bullard, Willie Hughes and Columbus Michael Bullard.
Survivors include his two sons, Michael Hughes and Matt Hughes, both of Tifton; three grandchildren; one brother, Joe Bullard (Deanna), Bristol; six sisters, Aline Leggett (Donnie Cox), Patterson, Faye McCollum, Alma, Gloria Charette, Hazlehurst, Diane Boatright, Mershon, Mildred Mixon, Homerville and Betty Colamaio (Dan), California and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 1, from the Mershon Cemetery with the Rev. Mitch Hall officiating.
Active pallbearers will be family and friends.
