Genah Eve Johnson, 36, of Waycross, passed away Monday morning, October 2, 2023, at her residence, following an extended illness.
Born October 24, 1986, in Waycross, she was a daughter of Montie Joe Johnson and Kathy Lanora Thomas. She grew up in Chatham County before moving back to Waycross in 2022. She had worked as a nail technician and a waitress.
She was preceded in death by a son, Klayvone Johnson and two siblings, Joe Michael Johnson and Joanna Nicole Barnett.
Survivors include her two children, Shabria Kathrine Cecil and Jabari Allen Cecil, both of Waycross; mother, Kathy Lanora Thomas, Waycross; father, Montie Joe Johnson, Waycross; three siblings, Robert N. Cobb, Waycross, Lanor Ann Thomas Shartrand, Omaha, NE and Kathryn Le-Dawn Bennett, Waycross; her uncle and aunt, Johnny Dale and Patricia Revels, Jacksonville, FL and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Memorialization will be by cremation.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the funeral home to help offset expenses.
