Roberts Winters Raney, 83, passed away suddenly Saturday, October 14, 2023, at his residence in Hoboken.
He was born in Tuskegee, AL, to the late Charles Roberts Raney and Iris Elma Boles Raney Gooden. He was formerly employed in maintenance for the Pierce County Hospital in Blackshear. He eventually retired from CSX Transportation after 26 years of employment.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by three siblings, Oneida Raney, Irvin Raney and Faye Raney.
Survivors include his wife, Susan Lide Raney, Hoboken; his daughter, Stacy Dowling (husband Blake), Hoboken; two grandchildren, Zachary Dowling and Jenna Dowling, both of Hoboken and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorialization will be by cremation.
