PCHS Bear Facts

This week’s PCHS Bear Facts is a listing of hot topics for the week spanning April 19-25.

FFA’s monthly meeting is today, immediately after school, in the ag room.

Congratulations to the FFA singing duet of Addie Brown and Elizabeth Griner, whose recording of “Jolene” has advanced them to state FFA competition. The PCHS duet was among 15 statewide invited to participate at the Macon Coliseum on Thursday, April 27. Take a bow, ladies!

We salute more of our PCHS seniors who have announced their study and work plans for the next four years. Over spring break, Jordan Insco signed enlistment papers to join the U.S. Army while Pedro Pena will become a United States Marine. Meanwhile, Davis Byrd has been accepted to study at The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina.

New faces will be joining the PCHS ranks next school year. We offer an early welcome to Coach Robert Douberly, who will serve as the head coach for Lady Bears varsity basketball. Coach Larry Insalaco will coach varsity wrestling and teach social studies. Coach Jason Demos will serve as an assistant coach for varsity baseball and football, teaching PE.

Sports physicals for the 2023-24 school year will be after school today in the gym. Cost is $10. Make checks payable to PCHS.

Prom is this Saturday night in the PCHS gym from 7:30 -10:30. Senior walk begins at 9 p.m.

Make sure to pick up your prom tickets at lunch starting tomorrow and continuing through Friday. You must have this ticket to enter prom and guests will be required to show a photo ID when they enter. Remember that prom is a formal event. No attire should be too short or revealing. Parents and visitors are not permitted to enter, but they will be able to watch the event streamed live at 9 p.m.
