Wayne Lawrence Eason

Wayne Lawrence Eason, 55, of Odum, passed away late Sunday evening, April 9, 2023, at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Jesup.  

Born in Miami, FL June 14, 1967, he had lived in Bushnell, FL for 30 years prior to moving to Odum 10 months ago. He was a 1986 graduate of Pierce County High School and would go on to serve four years in the US Navy. Following his time in the military, Mr. Eason (CB Handle, Tater) went into the trucking business working for Morris Dairy, Sikes Trucking, Kimberly-Clark and Wal-Mart from which he would retire.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a lover of all kinds of music. He was a member of Odum Baptist Church and will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.  

Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Cyndi Davis Eason, Odum; his son, Tyler Watkins (Jeannine Paterek), Blackshear; his parents, Bayne and Paulette Larsen Eason, Blackshear; three brothers, Gerome F. Eason, Blackshear and Ricky A. Eason and Brennan P. Eason (Chrissy Thrift) all of Odum; his three grandchildren, Eli Watkins, Anna Jade Watkins and Braydon Sweat; his in-laws, Terrell and Dianne Davis, Blackshear; his brother-in-law, Mike Davis, Blackshear and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. tonight (Wednesday, April 12), at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 13, from the Pearson-Dial Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment will be in the Bristol Cemetery.
