David Clinton Shaeffer Jr., 71, of Blackshear, passed away Saturday afternoon, April 1, 2023, at his residence, following an extended illness.
Born June 13, 1951 in Lancaster, PA, he was a son of David Clinton Shaeffer Sr. and Joyce Dacesman Shaeffer. He had lived many years in Pennsylvania before moving to Pierce County in the early 2000s. He was a veteran, having served in the United States Army and had worked as a machine operator on several shrimp and scallop boats and in real estate.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rita Louise Misel Shaeffer and his two sisters.
Survivors include his three grandchildren, Britany Allen, Waycross and Karl Veach and Tyler Veach, both of Blackshear; two great-grandchildren, Clyde Allen and Caine Allen, both of Waycross and several other relatives.
Memorialization is by cremation.
