Stacey Jo Spears Thompson

Stacey Jo Spears Thompson,  58, of Blackshear, passed away Sunday morning, April 9, 2023, at her residence, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born August 28, 1964, in Jacksonville, FL, she was a daughter of the late Joe Rewis and Betty Faye Pippin Spears.  She grew up and lived in Jacksonville before moving to Pierce County in 2008. She was a longtime housewife, an excellent event planner, decorator and one of the best hosts you’d ever meet.

Survivors include her husband, Billy Thompson, Blackshear, three children, Aaron Abbott, Jacksonville, Hannah Grant (husband Morris), Hoboken and Grant Thompson, Blackshear; two grandchildren, Kayden Grant and Easton Grant; sister, Tracey Bone (husband Mark), Middleburg, FL and several other relatives.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 13, from the chapel of Hart Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Glioblastoma Foundation at glioblastomafoundation.org.

The family would like to thank GHC Hospice for the love and care provided during Stacey’s sickness and this difficult time.
