Dwayne Wasdin, 76, of Patterson, died Wednesday, April 26, 2023.
A native of Pierce County, he attended Screven First Baptist Church and was a retired ITT Rayonier employee. Hunting and gun auction sales were favorite pastimes. He was preceded in death by his parents, Colon and Reba Wasdin; his three sisters, Cynthia Thornton, Nancy Wilson and Saundra Miller and by his brother, Thomas Wasdin.
Survivors are his wife of 54 years, Sherry Thornton Wasdin, Patterson; two daughters, April (Ron) Regier, Escanaba, Michigan and Shay Wasdin, Patterson; a son, Jeremy (Shanda) Wasdin, Bristol; seven grandchildren, Ridge Purcell (fiancé, Mallory Duncan), Leslie Purcell, Jose and Jesse Zarraga, J.J. Wasdin, MacKenzie and Christian Regier and an expected great-grandson, Walker Ridge Purcell.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 30, from the Lake Chapel Cemetery in Appling County near Patterson with Elder Jason Deal and Bro. Durwood Miller officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of South Georgia, 1625 Sunset Blvd., Jesup, GA 31545.
