Several Pierce County railroad crossings will be closed for routine maintenance starting this week.
CSX Railroad and Southern Commercial Development, LLC announced the closures this week.
Pierce County closures include Midway Church Road, Homestead Road and Olin Manning Circle (Spatola) and Keller Street and Grady Street in Blackshear, all on April 25 and Azalea/Altman Streets in Blackshear, April 26.
Aarons Way, Son Thomas Road, Dixon Street in Patterson, a private crossing and Offerman Loop (west) will all be closed beginning April 27. Offerman Loop (east), Railroad Lane and the private road/Oak Crossing Road will be closed beginning May 1.
The crossings will be closed for maintenance and repair. This will necessitate rerouting traffic. Signage will be in place marking detour routes. Please note the expected closure dates. Each crossing will be closed for three to five days, depending on the maintenance work that needs to be performed.
CSX and Southern Commercial Development caution that the schedule is subject to change due to weather and other unforseen circumstances.
