Frances Dixon Crews, 78, of Waycross, passed away early Monday morning, April 3, 2023, at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross, following an extended illness.
Born June 28, 1944, in Blackshear, she was a daughter of the late Tom S. and Miram Crews Dixon. She was a 1962 graduate of Blackshear High School and had worked as an office manager and photographer for The Blackshear Times, as a secretary for Farm Credit Service and as a secretary for Harborview Satilla in Waycross.
She had served on the Native American Tribal Council of Georgia for over 20 years and was a member of Christ Church of Waycross.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph V. Crews; two sisters, Iris Jones and Carolyn Shuman Sapp and a brother, Thomas E. Dixon.
Survivors include her three children, Ruben Mulkey, Patterson, Adam Mulkey (wife Cindy), Blackshear, and Cynaman Mulkey, Waycross; step-daughter, Kristie Stacy (husband Jeff), Jacksonville; grandchildren, Daniel Mulkey, Taylor Mulkey, Bryce Mulkey, Britny Royal (husband Jacob), Kaley McArthur, Hannah Stacy, Harper Stacy, Charli Rose Paszko and Tate Paszko; three great-grandchildren, Eason Royal, Kenley McArthur and Shepherd Mulkey; a sister, Annette D. Earle (husband Edward), Blackshear; a brother, Sammy Dixon (wife Nancy), Blackshear and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 6, from the chapel of Hart Funeral Home.
