The investigation continues into the death of a Patterson man who was struck and killed by a CSX freight train Saturday morning, April 1.
Estus Bernard Sharpe, 44, of Patterson, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
Sheriff Ramsey Bennett said the accident happened around mid-morning Saturday as Sharpe was walking along the tracks between Progress Rail and the Offerman Cemetery.
Sharpe was struck by a west bound CSX freight train.
Bennett said no additional details are available. He did say a toxicology report is pending.
Services for Sharpe will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 15, from the New Bethel Life Changing Ministry, 521 Brown Street, Screven.
