PCHS Bears soccer loses to Toombs defeats Vidalia

The Pierce Count High School (PCHS) Bears traveled to Toombs on Friday (Mar. 17) to face off against the fourth ranked Bulldogs in “The Pit.”

 “The Bears drew first blood with a brilliant shot from senior striker Jonah Allen,” said Head Coach John Hilton.

In the second half, Toombs rallied back scoring four straight goals, leaving the final score Toombs 4 and Bears 1.

On Tuesday (Mar. 21) the Bears traveled to Vidalia to take on the Indians for a must-win region game.

The Bears senior striker Jonah Allen found the back of the net late in the first half.

The Bears defense consisting of (Seth Stipe, Ceb Carter, Walker Brown) put on a dominant defensive performance, aided by Clark Stovall at the anchor position for the Bears.  

In the second half, striker Ashton Bowen slipped a ball past the Vidalia keeper for an early goal, and then Jonah Allen completed his hat trick by adding two more goals to his count.

Bear’s keeper Caden Edwards had two great saves during the game and recorded another clean sheet. The final score was Bears 4 and Vidalia 0.

Next up, the Bears will host Tattnall County this Friday (March 31) as they gear up for the first round playoffs April 13.
