Mary Pauline Lee, 86, died Friday evening, March 24, 2023, at Bayview Nursing Home in Nahunta, following an extended illness.
She was a native of Pierce County and lived most of her life in Hoboken. She was a homemaker and loved to quilt. She was a member of Mars Hill Primitive Baptist Church.
She was the daughter of the late George “Ellis” Clark and Minnie Lee Cason Clark. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Leon Jasper Lee; a son, Ellis Fred Lee; an infant grandson; a grandson, Chance Rhoden; her siblings, George “Allen” Clark, Allie “Mae” King, Wilbur Clark, Mildred Youmans Clark, Lottie Clark and Julian Clark; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert and Colleen “Cookie” Lee; a brother-in-law, Jack Booth and a sister-in-law, Delores Lee.
Survivors include six children, Ernest Lee (Barbara) and Clarke Lee (Julie), both of Hoboken, Rosa Hickox (Carley), Waycross, Paula Wainright (Bruce), Nahunta and Melissa Lee Bare and Gordon Lee (Tootie), all of Hoboken; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Annie Reeves (Marvin), Melissa Booth and Loraine Clark; a brother-in-law, Jimmy Lee (Joan) and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Sunday, March 26, at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 27, from the chapel of Music Funeral Home with Elder Terry Herrin, Elder Clarke Lee, the Rev. Carley Hickox and Elder Shane O’Neal officiating.
Interment will follow in High Bluff Cemetery.
Family and friends are invited to Mars Hill Primitive Baptist Church Monday after the burial service for a time of food and fellowship.
